Bobby Hamilton Jr. returns to the family business for the 2006 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season driving the No. 8 BHR2 Dodge after competing in the No. 08 TECH-NET Dodge at Daytona. The old adage “like father like son,” has never rung truer than it does for Hamilton Jr. and his dad, 2004 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Bobby Hamilton. Both have exhibited a competitive streak that has resulted in a
combined 20 wins in NASCAR touring series competition.

“I think we both have that burn again because we have so much to prove,” Hamilton Jr. said at the 2006 preseason Daytona test. “We need to do what we have to do to get him up where he is challenging for the championship again and Timothy is right there with us and we are all battling for a championship. That would be great if we had three or four BHR trucks battling for a championship. But it is up to us to do it and at the same time we need to have fun doing it.”

Bobby Hamilton Jr. has five NCTS starts and has made the most of his limited time in the series. He has two top-five finishes and has led in three of his NCTS starts for a total of 135 laps in truck series competition, narrowly missing wins at Darlington and Nashville. Hamilton Jr. also has an impressive five NASCAR Busch Series wins in his career.
